Meet Our Team

This our network of talented individuals who help run Chorley Infernos!
See who is who for roles and responsibility.

Nicola McIntyre - Chair

I became a part of Infernos in 2009 when my daughter was 9.  During that time, the club consisted of a small committee and enough for two teams, entering three or four local Junior Tournaments in the year 5/ 6 age category.  I only watched for one training session before I threw myself in to helping the coaching sessions then I soon became involved from the committee side. I took on the role as fundraiser to begin with and raised over £10,000 through general fundraising and an England Lottery grant.   In addition to this, I organised several Tournaments a year earning the club some funds to be able to grow and become financially independent.

In 2011 I went through my coaching badges and became a Level 2 coach and also became the Chairperson of the Club.  I coached and was involved in every age group of the club from 2011 to 2019 and I loved every minute of watching girls develop into netball superstars.  The netball took up quite a lot of my personal time so, when my daughter reached 17 in September 2019, I temporarily stopped coaching to focus on my studies, new job, family and other personal goals.   I'm back coaching again and loving working with our early years group plus the Year 4 team too.

Now in 2025, it makes me so proud to see the teams’ updates of wins, losses and lessons among all the teams from U8 through to U16's.   We currently play approximately 1100 matches and enter up to six tournaments a year including taking squads away for a whole weekend.  I still the remain the Chairperson, and I will continue to push to club to raise its standards in everything
we do.

I have always had a passion for all sport and specifically netball!  During my school and college years I played netball for my school, club and county captaining all of the teams at one particular point.  I continued to play throughout University until injury put a stop to my netball career for a number of years.  I then concentrated on swimming specifically open water swimming to challenge myself and to try and keep fit.  I returned to netball with Infernos when my daughter joined as a member about 8 years ago.  I have since have been involved with the Inferno Team as a Committee member and then as Player/Coach.  I am a  Level 2 coach and work with our U15's and U17's as well as running the Club with Nicola.  I sometimes feel that I think about netball 24/7 but, this is something I love and enjoy and I really do think that exercise is such an important part of every day life!  Eat, sleep, netball, repeat!

I love to see all of our players grow and develop, the progress some of our girls make in a short space of time is exceptional.  Their energy and enthusiasm week after week makes it so rewarding being part of their journey.  Winning or losing I absolutely love watching them play their matches and then taking back what we have learnt and need to work on in training.  I equally love playing games myself and can honestly recommend getting back to netball if you have had a break for a number of years.  It is such a brilliant workout!

Hannah Lee -  Secretary

Picture

Hannah Lee is a dedicated Coach and has recently taken on the role of Club Secretary at Chorley Infernos Netball Club, where she combines her love of the game with strong leadership and organisational skills.
Having enjoyed netball during her school and university years, Hannah’s connection to the sport deepened when her daughter started playing five years ago. What began as supporting from the sidelines soon evolved into helping out with club activities and eventually stepping up as a coach.
As a coach, Hannah supports players across both primary and high school years, focusing on building confidence, improving fitness, and developing tactical skills in a positive and encouraging environment. Her coaching style balances competitiveness with enjoyment, helping players thrive both on and off the court.
Now, as the newly appointed Club Secretary, Hannah brings fresh energy to the club’s operations—assisting with communications, league coordination, and ensuring the smooth running of club activities. She is passionate about creating a welcoming, inclusive space for girls of all ages to enjoy and grow through netball.

I’ve always had a love for netball, throughout high school and college I took great pride in competing at county and national level.  I captained my high school team for 5 years and won many awards for outstanding netball at sports presentations. I carried on playing netball in college for Newman Academy first team where I found my feet as a defender.  The team went on to National and British college tournaments where I was awarded coaches player at the end of my final year.  I currently play for Blackpool in the NW Premier Division and am delighted that we got National Finals this year.
I am a very enthusiastic, confident person who works extremely hard on creating a positive training environment for myself, my team mates and other players. I find adding variety to training helps improve focus as well as stimulating the players to help improve their performance. My expertise is in fitness, is what I feel is one of the most important aspects of netball. I make it fun enjoyable and specific to netball to keep the girls motivated.  Netball is all about the team, working together, supporting each other and finding success together, this is the foundation of the game and what I love most about it.
I’m a bubbly, kind, caring person who wants to see everyone do well and progress.

Donna Monks

Picture

My name is Donna Monks and I’ve been in and out of netball since I was at high school. I started playing at school/college and since then, joined various teams throughout years. I have always been interested in sports especially running when younger but have always been drawn more towards team sports. I am a great believer thats fitness is away of developing skills and to provide resilience when needed in daily life and for this reason I have encouraged both my children from a young age to encorporate fitness and team sports into their life. I have two girls who both play netball at Chorley infernos and I have been very fortunate to be able to support/coach the year group which my youngest child is apart of. I have been qualified as a level one coach for a few years and love working with the girls watching their skills, fitness, increase, confidence and resilence grow.

I have over 20 years’ experience working in safeguarding, beginning my career as a drug and alcohol worker before moving into probation services. I went on to spend 10 years with Lancashire County Council as an Adult Safeguarding Social Worker, supporting some of the most vulnerable people in the community. I then transferred into the NHS, where I currently work as a Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner, with expertise across both children’s and adults’ safeguarding, and a current focus on adult safeguarding. Alongside this, I will be supporting Chorley Infernos with safeguarding concerns and compliance, ensuring safe and supportive practice across the club.

Year 4 Coach

I've always had a passion for sport and was involved in every school team growing up. At 10, I played football for the district, and as a teenager, I represented Lancashire in badminton for several years. While studying at Lancaster University, I was the sports representative for my college and played both badminton and squash at university level.

At 30, I suffered a torn ACL playing football and thought my days of competitive sport were over. But a mixed netball tournament with Infernos reignited that spark—leading me back to badminton after a 17-year break and earning me a call-up to the Infernos coaching team!

In September 2023, I took over as coach for the Under 7s—my daughter Amelie’s team—then called Chorley Sunshines. We’re now known as Chorley Fireworks, and last year we proudly created an additional team: Chorley Firestars. I’ve loved getting to know all the girls I coach and feel really grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in their lives—not just as players, but as young people.

Outside of netball, I work as a psychologist, and I think my favourite thing about coaching is the privilege of helping kids believe in themselves and feel connected to and supported by their coaches and teammates

Year 5 Coach

Having enjoyed netball throughout school and playing for a team as an adult I jumped at the chance to join Chorley Infernos as a coach back in 2022! Since then I’ve gained my Level 1 & 2 coaching qualifications and attended many coaching CPD’s.  I’m passionate about encouraging girls to reach their own personal best and develop long standing friendships alongside achieving netball success.  No netball journey is the same. I ensure they are coached in a positive, friendly and structured environment which feeds their passion for sport and ultimately (hopefully) keeps them in sport for life! It’s a huge privilege to coach children and share their experience in netball. Chorley Infernos is one big team and I love being part of it.

Outside of netball I’m a long distance runner always pushing myself to achieve that next PB! I’m no stranger to coming out of my comfort zone to be my best and I use this in my coaching. My greatest sporting accomplishment to date is my 3:16 marathon!

Fun fact - recently I’ve completed my Masters in Construction Law and Practice whilst working, coaching and training.  Having enjoyed netball throughout school and playing for a team as an adult I jumped at the chance to join Chorley Infernos as a coach back in 2022! Since then I’ve gained my Level 1 & 2 coaching qualifications and attended many coaching CPD’s.

Year 7 Coach
I am a dedicated and experienced coach who brings nearly two decades of teaching and coaching experience to Chorley Infernos. As a qualified Level 2 Netball Coach, I have been involved in coaching at the club for over three years and currently leads our Year 7 team along with Nicola.
With 17 years as a primary school teacher—and currently serving as a Deputy Headteacher and Year 6 teacher— I have a deep understanding of how to support, challenge, and inspire young people both in the classroom and on the court. My extensive background in primary-level netball coaching has laid a strong foundation for developing confident, skilled, and resilient young players.
My coaching philosophy centres on hard work, attention to detail, and helping each player reach their full potential. I pride himself on creating a positive and driven team culture where every girl is encouraged to push themselves, take pride in the small things, and grow not just as athletes, but as individuals.
As a passionate netball enthusiast, I bring an energy, commitment, and motivation to every session. My love of the sport shines through in everything I do, and am deeply committed to developing players' skills, confidence, and love for the game—both now and for their future in netball.
