Chorley Inferno's Codes of Conduct
Thank you for being a member of Chorley Inferno, we hope that you enjoy your time with our club. We love netball and we also love to win! In order to keep building on our successes we ask each player to sign up to the player code of conduct.
Every player should understand that they are part of a competitive club that strives to win. We aim to get the personal best out of every player and create teams of like minded and like ability. Please understand that teams are created by coaches with years of experience building teams and squads that achieve the highest standards. It is important that all players have a realistic expectation of their own abilities and also are resilient enough to cope with the pressures that competitive team sport may bring.
Netball is fun but, it is also tough physically and mentally, you need to be prepared to experience highs and lows in your netball journey. Your success is often dependent on how well you can cope with this and pick yourself up after disappointments. Hard work, the right attitude, a good work ethic and perseverance does pay off.
As a parent/carer or guardian of one of our players we also ask you to carefully read and agree to the attached code of conduct. Parents you are our 8th player, it is that simple.
On team selection, we can assure you that this is a well-thought-out process, and no player is overlooked. There is no need to request regular feedback about your child. It’s important to recognise that while hard work and dedication are crucial, natural skills, athletic ability and game sense also play a role and some players will reach a plateau. Just like in academics, where some students excel naturally despite similar effort levels, the same applies to netball. That doesn’t diminish the effort or talent of any player—every team and player at Chorley Inferno plays at a good standard. Do not please, allow your daughter to think she is not good enough because she has not progressed to another position or team.
