Jenna Harty - Club Safeguarding Officer
I’m Jenna and I became part of Chorley Inferno Netball Club after my daughter joined a couple of
years ago and fell in love with Netball! Since then netball has become part of our family life, with
my husband Matt joining the Inferno coaching team and loving every minute of it! I support the
Club with admin work behind the scenes and I am also the Club Secretary and the Safeguarding
Officer for the club.
I have always had a love for sport; in particular netball, and began playing from an early age
representing my primary school in the local school league. I then went on to play for my high school,
6th form and university team. Whilst at university I studied PE and also graduated from Lancaster
University with my teaching qualification in Primary Education. I’ve always known from a very young
age that I wanted to teach and make a difference to children’s lives. I am in a very privileged position
to be able to say… ‘I love my job’ and seeing the children progress on their journey through primary
school is so rewarding. This year will see me in my 18th year of teaching, being a Deputy Headteacher
for the last 12 years. I am now looking forward to taking on a new challenge leading a primary school
as a Principal. My role in school is extremely varied, I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead, this is a
position I have held in school for a number of years. I have completed many safeguarding courses
and have Safer Recruitment training. I also hold a Paediatric First Aid Qualification.
